Harken back to the early days of Youngblood. Long before Shaft and Badrock came on board, the team of Chapel, Die Hard, Boggs, Raines, Gamble, and Riptide was led into combat by the man called Battlestone. However, insubordination and casualties (Battlestone murders one of his own men in an act of rage), causes the government to take the Youngblood program in a whole new direction. New recruits Badrock, Vogue, and the mysterious Link join veterans Chapel and Die Hard to form the new Youngblood. The last ingredient is the take no lip and by the book leadership of Shaft.
