"The Power Principle Part Three: Emotion, Ego...and Empty Expectations!", written by David Anthony Kraft with pencils by Carmine Infantino and inks by Klaus Janson, sees the Defenders, aided by a deep-sea monster, thwart Sergei's plans and free the Red Guardian from his control. However, the victory comes at a cost, as all the Defenders are now suffering from radiation poisoning. This issue also includes a one-page Hostess ad featuring Thor, titled "The Ding-a-ling Family."
