Norrin Radd finally returns to his beloved homeworld of Zenn-La, expecting a bittersweet reunion with his people and his long-lost love, Shalla-Bal. Instead, he finds a world that has moved on in a way he never anticipated, leaving him a stranger on his own soil. The Surfer is devastated to learn of the existence of Fennan Radd, a man claiming to be his brother and, more painfully, the husband of Shalla-Bal. This emotional upheaval forces Norrin to confront the reality that while he was serving the cosmos, the lives of those he protected continued without him.
