When Bruce Wayne and Alfred's car breaks down near a deserted house, they encounter the vampire Gustav Decobra. Despite being impaled with wood, Gustav survives, leading Batman to realize the vampire surgically moved his heart. Hiding in the attic, Batman deduces he must listen for Gustav's relocated heartbeat during a vigorous fight. As Gustav attacks, unleashing bats, Batman notices a grandfather clock growing louder. Connecting the sound to the hidden heart, Batman shoots the clock with a wooden arrow, finally killing Gustav as dawn breaks, allowing them to escape the haunted house.
