As the heroes gather their resources, Carnage expands his ranks, welcoming the undead Carrion into his murderous fold. The villains' path of destruction eventually draws the attention of the cyborg Deathlok, but even his advanced systems are not enough to withstand the combined might of Carnage’s "family." Captured and publicly displayed as a trophy, Deathlok’s defeat serves as a grim warning to the city, even as Spider-Man finds a glimmer of hope in the arrival of Firestar and the potential power of the stolen sonic technology.
