In the first of two fully painted tales, "The Outcast" transports readers to a prehistoric landscape where survival is the only law. The story follows a lone Neanderthal who, despite being shunned by his own kind, discovers a strange, sentient sphere that has fallen into his world. Recognizing the object as a living thing rather than a mere stone, the outcast embarks on a desperate quest to protect the sphere from the brutal forces of nature and the destructive ignorance of his tribe. This high-concept story explores the intersection of primitive instinct and advanced intelligence through lush, atmospheric painted art.
The second story, "Ghost Horse," shifts the setting to the rugged terrain of 1884 New Mexico. A series of eerie and inexplicable disappearances has plagued local ranches, as healthy horses vanish into the desert night without leaving a single trail. As paranoia grows among the frontier community, the mystery takes on a supernatural edge, suggesting that the rustler may not be a man of flesh and blood. Through vivid, painterly textures, this western-horror hybrid delves into the isolation of the Old West and the lingering shadows of the high desert.
