Master Splinter discovers the astral projection of Gosei Hatsumi, who explains that the sacred spirit force of his clan is at risk of being extinguished or corrupted. Because his son Kenji has turned to a life of crime, Hatsumi must bypass him to pass the power to his grandson, Hattori. With only ten hours to live, Hatsumi convinces Splinter to swap spirits so the master can use a mobile body to reach New York. The mission becomes a race against time, as Splinter’s soul remains tethered to a dying body in Japan while the Turtles escort the possessed rat through a hail of bullets and internal syndicate betrayals to ensure the Gosei lineage survives.
