Cable #3

Cable #3 (July 1993) is an important early key issue in Cable's first ongoing solo series, written by Fabian Nicieza with cover art by Art Thibert. This issue is particularly notable for featuring multiple high-profile artists handling different sequences—including Ron Lim, Paul Smith, and Brandon Peterson—as the story jumps perspectives. Titled "Twenty Questions," the story finds Cable and Garrison Kane trapped in absolute darkness at the bottom of the ocean inside the sunken remains of the Graymalkin core. With the power failing and the situation looking grim, the two battle-hardened mercenaries crack open some rations and reflect heavily on their convoluted pasts. Cable opens up about his tragic history with Stryfe, revealing his belief that he may actually be the clone while Stryfe is the original Nathan Summers. Meanwhile, in Sarajevo, a high-tech mercenary named Sinsear tracks down a hacker and arms dealer named Jack Hammer to find the whereabouts of Deadpool.
