The Marauders launch a devastating attack on the Morlocks in their tunnels, forcing a retreat orchestrated by Callisto and the Piper. Simultaneously, tensions simmer at the X-Mansion as Wolverine's healing is slow, Kitty raids the fridge, and Nightcrawler struggles with his powers, their peace shattered by a dying Morlock's warning. Arriving at the massacre site, the X-Men are ambushed, leading to Nightcrawler's severe injury and his return to the mansion with wounded Morlocks. The remaining X-Men and Callisto then witness Scalphunter's cold-blooded murders before engaging the remaining Marauders in a brutal fight that leaves Shadowcat critically injured and Colossus killing Riptide in rage, culminating in Storm's grim vow of vengeance against the surviving attackers.
