The mist-shrouded paths of the Sword Coast offer little comfort to Priam Agrivar, a warrior whose faith was shattered during the events of the Iron Dragon conflict. While navigating the treacherous terrain near the city of Waterdeep, Priam discovers a grotesque artifact: a petrified ogre’s paw that hums with a dark, divine energy. This "Hand of Vaprak" is more than a mere curiosity; it is a conduit for an ancient evil that threatens to bleed into the Forgotten Realms once more. Realizing the danger, Priam vows to see the item destroyed, though the path to its annihilation is fraught with peril.

His quest brings him into contact with the elf cleric Vartan Hai Sylvar, whose knowledge of the planes and divine lore proves indispensable. Despite their clashing personalities—Priam’s rigid quest for redemption versus Vartan’s pragmatic detachment—the two form a tenuous alliance. Together, they begin a journey to identify the true nature of the Hand, unaware that the relic’s influence is already beginning to draw the attention of the dark creatures that worship Vaprak. As they move deeper into the wilderness, the paladin realizes that destroying the artifact may require more than just a strong sword-arm; it may require the very soul he is trying to save.
