On Christmas Eve in Gotham City, Batman is tracking a thief targeting charity-collecting Santas. After a pursuit, he confronts the culprit: a recently unemployed man desperate to provide a decent Christmas for his niece and pay his bills. The man explains his desperation, admitting he's misdirected his anger at society instead of his former employer. Driven by this realization, he sets out to confront his old boss, unaware of the man's frail condition. Batman intervenes just as the jobless man reaches his former employer, only to find him offering help to the elderly man. Batman rushes them to the hospital, where the former boss is saved, and an unexpected Christmas miracle brings a sense of peace to the unusual Christmas Eve.
