The daily hustle of Riverdale High hits a hilarious stride in "Go-Go Woe" when Veronica stops at nothing to win a local dance contest, going so far as to hire a prestigious, intense professional choreographer. The plot takes a classic turn when a suspicious Betty misinterprets the secret meetings and elite terminology, convincing herself that the Lodge family has brought in a Mafia hitman. Meanwhile, the rich-girl drama continues in "Drop Out," where a tiny finger cut prompts Veronica to demand that her butler, Smithers, follow her through the school hallways just to carry her textbooks.
The winter weather brings a whole new set of problems for Archie and the faculty. In "Trouble Spot," Principal Weatherbee tries to secure a dangerously icy staircase, an assignment that goes horribly wrong when he relies on Archie and an inept janitor. Reggie Miller triggers a different kind of winter hazard in "When in Rome," where a stray snowball escalates into an all-out, uncharacteristic battlefield among the straight-laced school faculty. From Jughead’s disastrous athletic tutorials in "The Art of Skiing" to Archie abusing his power as the new hall monitor just to collect girls' phone numbers, this massive collection captures the timeless, slapstick spirit of the Archie gang.
