As Saturn Girl's leadership ends, Proty II suggests a puzzle contest to choose the next leader. He sets unique missions for Saturn Girl, Ultra Boy, Phantom Girl, Element Lad, Brainiac 5, and Elastic Lad, while Pete Ross reveals Superboy's secret identity. Despite their successes and Pete's clue, the puzzle remains unsolved until Saturn Girl realizes the missions' order spells out "SUPERBOY," with Proty's Bizarro-form medallion providing the final "Y," a tribute to Superboy's Legion anniversary that ultimately allows Saturn Girl to remain leader.
